Course abstract

The aim of the study course is to provide practical understanding and knowledge of geospatial solutions in a specific chosen field. Students will get acquainted with the possibilities, practical justifications, techniques and results of geospatial solutions of the chosen field thematic problems. acquisition and geospatial processing of information in the interests of the results of solutions (products) of specific topics and industry tasks.

Learning outcomes and their assessment

1. Knows the practice of geospatial solutions, essence, content, structure, possibilities, tasks and goals of using solution developments, methods of their development and suitability for use in practice in the topic of the specific field - defense of the course project
2. Is able to orientate in the definition of tasks for the development of specific geospatial solutions, in the definition of criteria and in the preparation of proposals for specific solutions, adapting to the needs of industry users. Is able to use GIS software for preparation of geospatial developments, using various spatial information data and their sets, ensuring the export of the obtained results to user-friendly systems. - defense of the course project
3. Is able to rationally evaluate the compliance of GIS systems and data with the purpose of the tasks of geospatial solutions in a specific sector, knows the specifics of their development in practice. Is able to perform tasks of search, processing and analysis of spatial data of appropriate quality. - defense of the course project
